Project details

This Webflow study shows a pragmatic solution to the limitations of the standard nested collections feature in the Webflow Designer. Collections can in principle be nested within each other – for instance to display blog tags on an overview page – but Webflow restricts this feature heavily: a maximum of five items per nested collection and only one nested collection list per page.

With a simple and lightweight jQuery code snippet, these restrictions can be bypassed. The solution is based on the jQuery .load() function, which loads content server-side and inserts it dynamically into defined HTML elements. This allows any number of collections with unlimited items to be displayed on static as well as dynamic pages.

The project is cloneable in the Webflow showcase and includes brief documentation so you can start from scratch right away.
